How to describe the issue

The clearest requests explain the symptom, context, and desired outcome.

For home tech help, mention the device, room, network, app, or smart home system involved. Include whether the problem affects one device or several, whether it started after a change, and what you need to be able to do when the issue is fixed.

For business tech help, describe how the issue affects work. Mention the number of people affected, whether shared equipment or accounts are involved, and whether the problem is urgent or part of a larger cleanup.

Project requests

For web or software work, start with the business problem.

A useful project request explains what the current process looks like, who uses it, where it breaks down, and what the first useful version should accomplish. That is more helpful than starting with a long feature list.
